For environmentally friendly and precise oiling – SOMMER TECHNIK presents its Oil Sprayer

Targeted lubrication in hard-to-reach areas…

Often, a precisely placed drop in the right place is enough to ensure reliable lubrication. This is exactly why the oil injector (Art. OS-BP and OS-BP4.5) from SOMMER-TECHNIK was developed. Depending on viscosity and cycle frequency, the system achieves a spray range of up to one meter. It is used wherever roominess is limited and clean application is required. The oil quantity is delivered to the lubrication point in a targeted and controlled manner, so that every drop is used effectively. In this way, lubrication is economical and does not produce harmful oil mist, protecting both the working environment and the health of customers.

How it works:

The built-in pump  (Art.: OS-BP und OS-BP4,5) operates at a pneumatic operating pressure of 4 to 8 bar and is controlled by a 3/2-way valve, available in either 24 V DC or 230 V AC versions (item no. MV26-3218-30 = 24 VDC or MV26-3218-06 = 230 VAC). The pump container must be installed vertically, as shown. Here, the oil is fed into the lubrication lines at up to approx. 50 bar via a built-in pressure intensifier.

The actual metering takes place cyclically via a metering valve, for example type OS010. With each switching pulse, a precisely defined amount of oil is released, creating the characteristic oil shot.

A distributor (Art. OS-V1) is required for the mounting of each metering valve. This serves both as a mechanical opening diameter and for venting the lubrication line. The distributors are supplied with all accessories required for initial commissioning. A maximum expansion to up to eight lubrication points is possible by using two OS-V4 distributors. The hoses required for the main line (Art. S-PA4) and compressed air connection (Art. S-PU4) must be ordered separately as required, cut to length as needed, and installed.

The metering valves used have fixed metering quantities between 5 and 100 mm³ per cycle and are not adjustable. Adaptation to different lubrication requirements is achieved by replacing the respective valve type.

It should be noted that as viscosity increases, the shot range and maximum cycle frequency decrease. Before initial commissioning, the system must be vented several times until the lubrication line is completely free of bubbles.
