Since June 2017 the new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) 305/2011 pursuant to EN 50575 has been in force. The directive rates communications, control and power cables, which are intended for permanent installation in buildings and affect the building’s efficiency, by their flame propagation and heat development in seven new fire protection classes: Aca, B1ca, B2ca, Cca, Dca, Eca und Fca. It applies to cables which have a flame-retardant effect and guarantee a low release of caustic gases and smoke. Functional endurance cables are not subject to the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation.

Suffocation or poisoning caused by the development of flue gases is one of the most frequent causes of death in connection with fires in buildings. The fire eats up the oxygen in closed rooms, whereby carbon dioxides and carbon monoxides will form. Further damages result from toxic and dioxin-loaded combustion residues, contaminated extinguishing water as well as corrosive and poisonous flue gas residues.

For the above reasons the legal requirements with regard to the fire protection in buildings or also in shipbuilding have considerably increased.

Hence the former provisions of the FRNC classes and test procedures become redundant which, however, does not mean that the FRNC properties such as self-extinction/flame resistance specified by Sommer cable to this day would thereby change. Unless otherwise stated in our quote and the shipping documents, our cables are subject to Euroclass Fca.

SOMMER CABLE delivers various cable families for permanent installation in the requirement categories Cca, Dca, Eca ex warehouse.

But unfortunately every (higher) classification is associated with considerable test and certification costs for each cable. SOMMER CABLE will therefore not automatically have every installation line re-classified, mainly to keep the sales prices stable. When necessary, our company will gladly establish contacts with renowned laboratories or have the required cables tested at the lab for an extra charge and certified according to the requirement classes B2ca, Cca, Dca, Eca and Fca for their customers. The higher the class, the higher the expenditure and also the test and certification costs will be.

Pursuant to the European Construction Products Regulation EU 305/20011, compliant cables bear the CE label.

Y es que la nueva generación de los sistemas Extender CARDINAL DVM-HDBT marcan la diferencia en cuanto a calidad de transmisión.

Los equipos ultracompactos optimizados para un funcionamiento continuo procesan señales HDMI hasta el estándar 2.0 en los formatos más habituales, como HDCP 2.2, 4K, 3D, CEC, así como audio PCM y Bitstream. Adicionalmente se transmiten comunicaciones bidireccionales RS232 e infrarrojas para el control de pantallas y videoproyectores. Los ingenieros de SOMMER CABLE han desarrollado además una alimentación de corriente vía PoH (“Power over HDBaseT”), la cual permite conectar la fuente de alimentación en el emisor o en el receptor. Además de la compatibilidad con modelos anteriores, el sistema promete una gran flexibilidad en la práctica y una garantía de inversión de futuro.

Los nuevos sistemas Extender CARDINAL DVM-HDBT ya están disponibles como emisor, receptor y kit.

En plus, la communication bidirectionnelle RS232 et infrarouge pour la commande d’un écran ou vidéoprojecteur est également transmise. CARDINAL DVM HDBaseT convinces by uncompromising transmission quality

A long wind is not only in demand in sport, but also in the professional installation or event technology sector. Many systems fail when it’s about the transmission of sound and picture over long distances. Customers of SOMMER CABLE don’t have to compromise here. Because the new generation of the CARDINAL DVM-HDBT extender systems creates a milestone in terms of transmission quality.

“When designing the new CARDINAL DVM systems, we focused on a stable, zero latency transmission of HDMI signals. That way uncompressed UHD content can be transferred in real-time by using only a single CAT line. And this over a maximum distance of 70 meters [230 ft.]!“, explains a convinced Peter Rieck, Key Account & Distribution Manager at SOMMER CABLE.

The ultra compact devices are optimized for continuous operation and process HDMI signals up to the 2.0 standard with all common features such as HDCP 2.2, 4K, 3D, CEC as well as PCM and bitstream audio. Likewise the bi-directional RS232 and infrared communication for display or beamer control is transmitted along. Moreover, the engineers at SOMMER CABLE have realized the voltage supply via PoH (“Power over HDBaseT“), whereby the power supply may be connected either to the transmitter or to the receiver. With due regard to the compatibility with the previous products, this ensures a high flexibility in use and a long-term security of investment.

As of now the new CARDINAL DVM-HDBT extender systems are available as transmitter, receiver and kit.

SOMMER CABLE presenta su éxito más reciente: el innovador cable AOC para la transmisión a largas distancias de señales AV vía HDMI 2.0a y Displayport 1.4. Con ello, el proveedor de técnica profesional de cables y conexiones vuelve a demostrar otra vez su maestría tecnológica.

Especialmente en los ámbitos de la instalación y los espectáculos en directo, los nuevos cables activos cumplen con las máximas exigencias: la variante HDMI 2.0a alcanza un ancho de banda de 18Gbit/s y la versión de Displayport 1.4 incluso 25 Gbit/s. Con ello, ofrecen más ventajas que los cables de cobre, especialmente en el caso de una conexión pasiva, y también que otras soluciones activas y sistemas extender. Ya que los nuevos cables híbridos de fibra óptica AOC integran la electrónica necesaria en la carcasa de los conectores. Esto simplifica la manipulación en el sector profesional y hace que la instalación sea más sencilla gracias a sus compactas dimensiones y a la renuncia a una alimentación de corriente por separado. Además, también convencen por su elevada flexibilidad y resistencia a la rotura.

Ya sea la resolución 4K a 60Hz con muestreo 4:4:4 o HDR 10, los nuevos cables AOC son compatibles con los estándares más modernos, incluido el dispositivo de protección contra copias no autorizadas HDCP 2.2. La variante HDMI 2.0a se encuentra ya disponible en longitudes de hasta 100 m, la versión 1.4 del Displayport en longitudes de hasta 50 m.
